Travel slowly, staying in vacation rentals (villas, farms, cottages, apartments)
Purchasing Tickets for Trains in Europe
Trains are a common mode of transportation in Europe. You can go between all major cities by train, but you can also get out to the smaller towns easily by train.
If you are spending time in a vacation rental in the countryside, you will probably need to rent a car at least for the time you are in the countryside.
If you are moving around a lot and traveling between countries, it makes sense to get a train pass. Buy your passes from RailEurope before you leave because many of these passes are not available in Europe.
