This is a nice hotel located on the outskirts of the Marais area in Paris. The rooms are nice, the breakfast is adequate and the desk is very helpful. {3 star}

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. I think the location is good but not great for first time visitors to Paris. I think it is a better location for more experienced visitors as it is on the outskirts of the Marais area. (Very near the Place de la Bastille.)

There is a bus that goes across the city but it took us a day to find out about it. We found this hotel in the Rick Steves book. When you mention his book the fourth night is free and the breakfast is free (otherwise 10 euros a head).

The rooms are really nice; small but clean and well kept. We paid 190 euros for a triple and 120 for a double. We were using four rooms so the fourth night free was great for us! The triple is actually fairly small with a single bed on the first level and two twins up in an alcove. It was a perfect room for our teenage boys. The best part of the set-up was that they had connecting rooms. You walk through a door that can be locked into a very small alcove and the rooms are on either side of the alcove. Each has a door that can be locked. They can be rented together to form a sort of family suite. This set-up worked really well for us. We had two sets of connecting rooms for our large group.

The bathrooms are new and very clean.

The breakfast is Continental style with fairly decent pastries and cereal and coffee and tea. It was really nice for free.

The walk to the heart of the Marais is about 10 minutes. There are cafes all around on the main streets and it is a short walk to the river. The area seemed quite safe.

The hotel staff is very helpful and did recommend a lovely square where we had two very good meals: Place du Marche Ste Catherine. We ate at Au Bistro de la Place and a very good Korean restaurant. Forgot their name, but you can't miss them.
