Lyon: Grand Hotel des Terreaux

Reviewed by: genemo from LA, review #2447

When: October 2008

Terrific hotel in Lyon conveniently located yet out of the tourist area.

We had a terrific quiet and nice-sized corner room at the back of the hotel - looking over the adjoining neighbors' roofs.

The manager of the hotel was extremely helpful, calling to reserve a table for dinner and securing an early morning cab on the day of our departure.

The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and had a nice big bath with a tub. Every one on staff was friendly and helpful. The elevator is tiny - two people with suitcases at the max - but I found it delightful.

The hotel is on the north end of the Presqu'Ille, about a ten minute bus ride from the Gare Perrache. We did not eat at the restaurant so I can not comment on that.
