A nice, modern hotel located within the convention centre complex as you enter Lyon.

After our nine hour flight we picked up our rental car and headed for our hotel: the Hilton Lyon, along the River Rhone. The hotel was not under construction but the convention complex it was part of was. This did not affect us in any way.

In the vicinity of the hotel was the Egyptian Casino, Convention Centre, movie theatres, a couple of restaurants and cafes and Interpol was just down the street. The Hilton was located on Quai Charles de Gualle Road. The hotel room was 79 per night. We stayed 2 nights. The room was large with a king sized bed, air conditioning, a lovely balcony with a view overlooking the river. It had a large, well supplied bathroom with big towels, a robe and several amenities. We received a welcome letter from the manager along with a complimentary bottle of Evian water. There was a mini bar with items for purchase. We only used this to store our own drinks.

I felt this hotel was a very good value for our purpose which was to basically recover from jet-lag while being close enough to drive into Lyon for some exploring and a couple of excellent meals. It is on a bus line but not close enough for us to walk to the city. We paid an additional fee for valet parking. I recommend this hotel for its cleaniness and great price.
