This is a Charming, English speaking,American friendly, reasonably priced small hotel, in the center of town. {3 stars}

After a long drive from CDG airport, it was a delight to approach this very charming 3 star small hotel.

It was a private mansion built in 1734 . They have very convenient off street parking. We didn't bother to check out our rooms once we checked in (an easy process), but headed instead to the very lovely garden and relaxed for a while with a glass of refreshing local "cider."

There were three of us traveling and we reserved two rooms with a garden view for 121 euros each on the first floor (1 flight up a narrow staircase). Both rooms retained their original charm, were on the smallish side, and had ensuite modern bathrooms.

We had breakfast one morning which was 12 euros each. I found that a bit pricey for what was served. But, we were in a hurry to catch the "Battlebus" tour, and the hotel breakfast was convenient.

This hotel and Bayeux as a whole were a very nice introduction to France. Bayeux is a beautiful town (extremely pretty), full of history, friendly people, and very nice restaurants.

Hotel D'Argouges is a very charming hotel and was staffed with English speakers who were very helpful, and very friendly. I have only good things to say about our first two nights in France and would definitely highly recommend Hotel D' Argouges (but I could never pronounce it!) to anyone heading that way.
