Quirky, central, affordable small hotel between Latin Quarter and St. Germaine de Pres.

This quirky, unique place sits off Rue Dauphine 2 blocks from the Pont Neuf, right between St. Germain de Pres and the Latin Quarter and very convenient to the St. Michel metro and RER stop, which made the trip to the airport a breeze. (The strike started later that day, however).

Hotel de Nesle is a 6-story place with no elevator, 20 rooms, friendly and helpful owner and her son, some English, rather unusual decorations. Each room has a theme, and most have painted murals. Ours was "Moliere", others are Egyptian, African, Oriental, etc. Rooms are cleaned every day, but you must have some tolerance for dust bunnies!

Half the rooms look out onto a lovely small garden, and despite its central location, this place was QUIET (except for other guests at times). It is situated in a good location for relatively inexpensive dining and night life options, too.

Prices for 2 range from 75 euros for a room without WC (toilet) and shower (but only two rooms share the WC on each floor), to 85 euros for room avec douche, but sans WC, up to 100 euros for room avec douche et WC. We got a discount to 90 euros for a 5 night stay. Payment accepted in cash or credit card. (The rates for one person are much less, 55 euros for the 75 euro room, e.g. And at least one room sleeps 3.)
