Great hotel in a great location. {3 stars}

We had a lovely, but compact room with a great view of the Eiffel Tower. The bathroom was not too bad size-wise, with tub/shower and it too had a great view of the Eiffel Tower! It was a bit old, but decorated very nicely and very clean. The elevator just barely held 2 people and a suitcase, but got us up to the 4th floor just fine. The hotel was as it appeared on their website, so no surprises!

Once the windows were closed it was very quiet; hardly any street noise at all and if you left the drapes open, you could lay in bed and look at the Eiffel Tower!

It's about a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and Musee d'Orsay. Only a block and a bit to Rue Cler (where there was the best crepe place!). It is right next to Les Invalides and across the street from Ecole Militaire. The Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame are all approximately a 1/2 hour walk.

There are a number of nice little restaurants and cafes close by. One block to the metro station. Lots of beautiful, well kept treelined streets. We enjoy walking so were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. We wandered all around the area day and night.

There is internet available in the lobby. You buy a card from the desk with whatever amount of time on it you want.

The service was excellent! We arrived without luggage so they supplied the little emergency travel packs with toothpaste/toothbrush and one with a razor and shaving cream for my husband. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful with directions, were to buy passes, how long to walk here or there, etc. We couldn't contact the shuttle service we had pre-booked to confirm our pick up times for the next day, so both the morning and evening desk people tried phoning and e-mailing them a couple times for us (but to no avail!). Even tried to find the company in the phone book, but couldn't.

We paid $137CDN per night for a "Charming Room". Didn't include breakfast, which would have been $11 per person extra. Using Trip Advisor, I found the best rate online through Expedia. When I had initially found the hotel it was $161CDN/night, but I kept checking every few days for a couple of weeks and finally it came up at the lower price.

It was our first time to Paris; we wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again.
