Great place to stay if your visiting the grand old champagne houses in Epernay. It's right on the Avenue, it's lovely, and it has a nice pool area. {4 stars}

We really liked this hotel. We were there to take a champagne tour - Moet Chandon- and wanted convenience, a place to park, and some comfort.

The hotel was very stylish, with the old architectural details (the home of Eugene Mercier, founder of champagne Mercier) combined with contemporary style and amenities. The breakfast room was gorgeous - an old solarium. The pool area was wonderful, and I enjoyed the opportunity to swim outdoors in the beautiful weather. Lovely garden, potted plants.

The staff was extremely helpful and polite. They made reservations for our tour.

Breakfast was overpriced, however it was necessary, as there is literally no where to eat around there, without walking the entire length of the avenue - maybe 3/4 mile? We like to walk, but it would not be pleasant late at night.

That is one drawback to this place. But if you eat breakfast there, and plan to eat a good meal in town midday, you could make it work. There's always a taxi, I suppose.

The rooms are attractive. We slept in their smallest room (#15) the first night, and when a larger room became available, we moved to that room for our second night. The bed in the first room was a double, hardly luxurious. The hotel was very clean and in excellent repair.

We found Epernay rather charmless, but we loved our stay at this hotel and we greatly enjoyed the Moet Chandon tour.
