My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at a Benedictine Monastery in Bayeux in April 2006. At that time we paid 50 euros per night, and enjoyed a sunny double room facing the interior garden and a " en suite" bath. In the morning we walked across the garden to the refectory for our morning bowl of great coffee and bread, butter and jam. We later added our own cheese to the fridge. Our host Sister Cecile was a delight and enjoyed practicing her English. She said she was only fluent in beds and toilets. You receive your own key and are free to come and go as you please. Plenty of room for the kids to run and play. Do not neglect the Bayeux Tapestry, and we recommend Battle Bus for the Normandy beaches tour.
