Unexpectedly upscale Marriott Courtyard in the village of Roissy, adjacent to CDG airport. Very good restaurant. Airport shuttle. Reasonable rates available.

We spent one night here prior to departing from Charles de Gaulle airport and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this Marriott Courtyard hotel, which was definitely not the same as the standard Courtyard back in the USA. The hotel had much more the feel of a full-service Marriott hotel, including a large somewhat lavish lobby, a restaurant, a business center, and a fitness center.

Our room (#330) was absolutely huge and well-appointed with an extremely comfortable king-sized bed. The bathroom was large with a very good shower. There was free high-speed internet in the room and also an ironing board and iron. Free coffee and tea was available in the lobby in the morning.

We had our last dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was a nice way to end our stay in France. This is not a coffee shop, but a proper French restaurant. We splurged on this last night in France, enjoying three courses including magret de canard for me and filet de boeuf for Charley. Our meal and the service was very very good. We spent almost as much on the dinner (82) as we did on our room (99).

There is a shuttle from the airport. We just hopped on upstairs from the TGV station (follow the signs to "hotel navettes"). We were charged 5 euro total for the shuttle (covering two people, both ways) on our hotel bill. On the trip from the airport (we arrived at the TGV station), the shuttle stopped at several other hotels and took about 15 minutes. One of the stops was the Roissy RER station. The trip back to the airport was faster (only one other hotel stop), but the length of your trip will depend on your terminal.

There are many airport hotels to choose from in the hotel district of Roissy. I often stay in Marriott properties when traveling on business, and have had some wonderful free hotel stays using Marriott points so I always do consider a Marriott if one is available. For this stay I had a good advance-purchase internet rate. They also offer AAA and senior rates. We will definitely stay here again if the price is right.
