Directions: West of Cannes, right at the tip of the Port de la Rague
For lunch on a Wednesday in December, Au Bruit de La Mer was busy with folks who obviously knew the place well. A good sign, we thought. We sat inside, in a sun-lit room surrounded with glass sliding doors, and views of the bay of La Napoule, Cannes, and the Islands of Lérins. An idyllic set-up. "Just imagine you're on the prow of a boat," said the waitress, as she brought large shrimp (from the Indian Sea), bright-eyed sea bass and sea bream in a cork platter for display. We picked the Plat du Jour, fresh prawns on a purée of eggplant (about 20 euros). The food was delicious, but it's the setting that made us linger! If the weather permits, the terrace offers great views, with a little crescent of a beach on the left and yachts moored at the Port de la Rague on the right.
