When: 2007

We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch on the terrace across the street on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in September 2007.

Directions: In the middle of Lourmarin. Believe me, you can't miss it

Daube, lunch special at Café Gaby in Lourmarin, photo by

There are three cafés side by side in the center of Lourmarin - Café de L'Ormeau, Café de La Fontaine, and Café Gaby. While the other two are very likely pleasant places to enjoy a long lunch on a beautiful Sunday in September, our experience was limited to Café Gaby.

A local couple at the next table indicated that this café was their personal favourite, helped us with our menu selection, and joined in conversation about the food, restaurant, village and region. My wife had a salad while I tried the recommended lunch special - daube, shown in the photo. Both were excellent. When we return to Lourmarin, we will almost certainly return to Café Gaby for lunch, even though there are other nearby choices. Highly recommended.
