Directions: On the perimeter of Place des Lices, the large plane-tree-bordered plaza where half the town gathers to play boules on Sundays.
One of the few brasseries in St Trop that's not only open in Winter, but that brims folks even off-season. Simple fare, but all excellent: there's usually one main dish or "plat du jour", and then a good list of salads, pasta, pizza (not the best), burger, galettes. My salade Niçoise was good (green beans were fresh, not canned) and presented with a little panache. Little guy's moules marinières (mussels) were very good, and the pot was half his size! In January, St Tropez takes on a different quieter atmosphere and locals come out rather than escape the town as many do in the Summer. Judging from the crowd of "habitués" or usual suspects in the restaurant, this is one of their favorite hang-outs. Lunch for 4, with pitcher of decent rosé = €77.
