Absolutely fabulous, wish I lived in Provence so I could eat every week!!!

Directions: It's in the countryside outside Le Thor, good directions & map on website.

Have been to Les Carmes twice whilst in the area on holiday. Lovely Provencal Mas that once housed Carmelite monks. Family run business with the owners son as the chef - see the website for his credentials.

In summer time we dined in the courtyard which was beautiful, lit softly with candles and the stars above- very romantic. Dinner starts with Champagne aperitif and snails (optional!) which are grown by the owner. We then sat down to a four course dinner- which was sublime and illustrated the chef's Michelin starred training. As an ‘amuse bouche’ we had mini fish and chips with balsamic vinegar - an amusing play on the chef's English nationality.

We then had a starter of tomato tartare - which was packed full of flavour and elegantly presented.

The main course was lamb ‘3 ways’ which consisted of a mini lamb stew, lamb cutlets and lamb sweet breads, perfectly portioned.

Dessert was a sublime strawberry soufflé that was light and fluffy- accompanied by a jug of crème Anglaise which is poured into the centre.

This is the best value dinner we had whilst on holiday in France, the menu is €35 per person which includes your wine and coffee. The quality, presentation, taste and atmosphere is second to none. A MUST if you are in the area.
