Directions: On the beach in Agay, east of St Raphael
Maobi Plage restaurant and bar is right on the western side of the long semi-circle beach of Agay, under the shade of palm tree and giant grass umbrellas. Kids play on beach while parents sip on exotic fruit drinks a few steps away. The atmosphere is very relaxed, so is the service. It took us over 20 min for our order to be picked up, after much hand waving. Waiter was apathetic at best. To be fair, the issue was more one about an unhappy waiter than one with the restaurant. The food was disappointing (grilled sardines were not so fresh - salmon croustade was overcooked and stale and served over soggy canned ratatouille). Given the location, I would come back for a drink or for their large cups of fresh seasonal fruit, but not for a meal. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
