A touch of class and warm, excellent service in the Marais, with pretty good food, too.

Aralynn gives this restaurant five out of ten. Six, I think. A touch of elegance in the decor, which is also simple and very nicely done. Excellent, warm service. English spoken. A totally non-smoking restaurant!

Two amuse bouches, little surprise bites to eat at the start of the meal - the first foie gras on toast, and both were very good. Appetizers were scallops and a mushroom sautee. I liked the latter more than Aralynn did the scallops. (We are spoiled by seafood on the Normandy coast.)

The look on the plate was lovely and ditto for the main courses of veal, which we both had - all right, but also the weakest part of the meal. I had a praline souffle for dessert. Aralynn went directly to coffee, which came with two "truffle" chocolates and lovely orange flavored thin cookies.

This was the 36€ menu, the only one, with two choices for each course.

We shared a bottle of Givry, 40€, likely overpriced. This with two glasses of Champagne - it was our anniversary - was a 146€ meal for two. A little more than we're accustomed to paying for a nice dinner in Paris. If I went again, I'd have a glass of wine rather than a ordering a bottle. Minus Champagne that would make it about 100€ for two.

High marks for the atmosphere and service, high marks for the presentation, medium for taste.
