Excellent bistro despite of somewhat touristy location

Directions: Métro : Concorde next to Tuileries Gardens

Chez Flottes, photo by my husband

We ate here after a tour of Paris and Montmartre. After the end of the tour we just walked towards Jardin des Tuileries on that street.

We arrived outside of rush hours in the afternoon and I just loved that place since the beginning. It is a nice bistro and they have an excellent food and wines and also a child's menu.

This is probably the best meal we had on our visit to Paris for a very reasonable price. This place has a special atmosphere because of decor.

We had an onion soup as an entree which was excellent. Then we chose Confit de Canard with Aligot. The Aligot came in a small cocotte. Aligot is mashed potatoes with garlic and cheese. Even my husband was impressed by the quality and great taste of Aligot. Simply the best mashed potatoes of our lives. Who could imegine that? The confit was also excellent.

Our son was busy with his cocotte and his child's menu. The choice of wines was great. Service was good. There were only another family eating when we arrived. The place is nicely decorated and the bathroom was clean.

What to say? I was a bit sceptical at first because of the location, practically in front of an entrance to Jardin des Tuileries. But finally I was impressed with food quality and we had a great moment there that remains in our memories.
