"From Here You Can't See Paris" restaurant, which was as good as I had hoped this restaurant to be after new ownership.

After reading "From Here You Can't See Paris", the story of a French village restaurant through the seasons, I was so looking forward to experiencing this treat...only to learn that the chef and his wife who were written about had departed, and the restaurant was under new ownership. Oh well! We decided to give it a go and booked a table for lunch since it was an hour or so from our rental. In a word, it was fabulous.

We were seated in the "schoolyard" under a umbrella at a beautifully set table and ordered a crisp bottle of rose, and were excited to read the choices on the 34 euro menu. So many choices, any of which I wanted to order. To start, we were presented with a tureen of some sort of pea soup to begin our meal - delicious! For entrees, my wife ordered a delicious foie gras (We ate much foie gras during our 3 weeks in the Dordogne, but this was by far the best). My ravioli in a lobster sauce was sublime. After licking platters clean, we moved on to the main courses - veal in a morel cream sauce for my wife and touronados in a Cahors wine reduction for me. Wonderful! A small round of cabecou goat cheese with salad followed, and dessert was a small round of ice cream in a hard chocolate ganache. The lunch was wonderful, as was the setting. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
