Directions: On the D905 through Buffon This is an simple restaurant and hotel with a huge chestnut tree shading the front patio. It's a good choice if you're visiting the Grand Forge or the Abbey de Fontenay. Country-style food, and very reasonable prices. It was too chilly and drizzly to sit outside, so we ate in the yellow-painted dining room. We both had the 11 euro menu. I started with Bouchee a la Reine, which was yes, chicken a la king in a puff pastry. Larry ordered Museau Vinaigrette, which was slices of mystery meat in a tasty dressing. We both followed with excellent roasted lapin. (If you order the lapin, tell the server if there's a part you prefer--leg or breast) Larry finished with cheese, I managed a dish of berries. Lunch with a half bottle of wine and coffee was 39 euro. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
