07 ARR: Le Violon d'Ingres

Superb food and excellent service.

This was our last night in Paris, so DH and I decided to splurge. We had walked by this restaurant a few nights before and stopped in to make our reservations.

We had appetizers, one being presse de langue de boeuf avec foie gras de canard, the other was a creme legere de potiron. Our main courses was a foie de veau with potatoes, the other was a filet de rouget (fish) with a bouillabaisse. We decided to share a dessert and I'm glad we did. We ordered a Grand Marnier souffle with a caramel sauce with fleur de sel de Guerande.

I had a glass of Pomerol and DH had two glasses of some other red. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, the food was excellent. The service was excellent. We were never without our water glasses empty, and our food came out in a timely fashion, but we never felt rushed or that the waiters were hovering over us. Our entire cost us 171 euros. Not inexpensive but worth every euro. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

They are open every day of the week, for lunch and dinner. For lunch they offer two courses for 48 or 46 Euros, Monday to Friday.
