Directions: At one end of Piana on the road to Porto
Les Roches Rouges is a venerable hotel at the upper end and on the road out of Piana, one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. It was the main setting for the movie Queen to Play (Joueuse in the original French title) with Sandrine Bonnaire and Kevin Kline. The dining room and terrace afford great sea views. Our lunch on the terrace on Monday October 8 2012 was one of our major indulgences to ourselves. We had two plats du jour, very good and at €22 each, pretty reasonable, but when our two aperitifs, a bottle of water, one dessert and two espressos were included, the total was €76 – ouch! But I would still recommend it for the experience of being there. Perhaps you might consider just having a drink and enjoying the view – that’s what a lot of reviews recommend.
