Review 1077: French Home Rentals, Apartment Titien

Review by Thayer from CA

2bed/1bath apartment, Paris

June / July 2004, 1 week

Our family of 4 rented this wonderful apartment through French Home Rentals. Apartment Titien is located in the 13th district and is along a side street immediately adjacent to a metro stop. The apartment is not fancy but is very, very comfortable. This residence is lived in and only occasionally rented out and as such is fully furnished.

We ate at a wonderful local restaurant (no one spoke a bit of English) around the corner and had a huge meal at an incredibly reasonable price compared with the rest of Paris prices. Groceries were several blocks away, but bread and pastries were only a block away and there were other restaurants that we did not eat at nearby.

The apartment includes one bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with twin trundle bed sharing a balcony overlooking a yard at the rear of the building. The bathroom was was modern and clean and included fairly new washer and dryer which were available for use. The kitchen was fully stocked. The front room overlooking the street was a large dining/living area with another pull-out bed.

We would highly recommend this apartment. Also, Randall with French Home Rentals was excellent to work with and we would also recommend this agency if this apartment is not available.

The House/Apartment

The apartment was fairly modern but in good shape. There was a small elevator up to the apartment.

There was a view of a garden but not avaiable to this apartment. A small balcony overlooked the yard. There was no pool.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The apartment was very clean. The furniture was comfortable but not new. There was a round table with four chairs for dining in the shared dining/living room. The apartment owner had a large collection of jazz music which we were able to enjoy.

Our bed was very comfortable. The WC was separate from the sink/shower/washer dryer area. The bathroom facilities were modern and clean and worked perfectly.

The kitchen is small (compared to large California standards) but probably quite normal by urban, Paris standards. Because the owner lives in this apartment the majority of the time, the kitchen was fully stocked. The kitchen included a dishwasher. Also, the owner was kind enough to leave a binder of instructions for all appliances which was very helpful to refer to instructions as the week progressed.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The agency was very thorough and helpful. The pictures accurately depict the apartment.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would highly recommend this apartment, emphasizing that it is high on comfort and practicality. It was an excellent choice for our family with two children aged 7 and 10.
