Review 157: Doorways, La Conviviale

Review by Ann from Wisconsin

3bed/1bath, 1bed/1bath in Graveson near Avignon, Provence

mid-June 2000, 1 week

Several different sized units run by English couple in a beautiful converted nunnery. Beautiful building and great location for walk to market and driving to St. Remy (owners who live at one end of the building give good advice on great restaurants) and Avignon, etc. Exellent pool and yard. If one is used to air conditioning, it might not be that good in very hot months as back bedroom units might be stuffy. The 4bed/2bath unit we really wanted was booked over a year in advance so we got two smaller uinits. The 3bed unit actually had 3 showers. The people at Doorways were very helpful as we had never rented in France before.

Nearby Amenities

Yes to walking.

The House/Apartment

Very historical with several other apartments of various sizes.

Excellent area, shared, but plenty of space with nice pool that owners used a lot.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Nice shape. Yes, it was clean.

Basic bathrooms and bedrooms. Lots of combinations.

Great kitchen area with good sitting area.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

All good. They even faxed floor plan layouts of different units to help us decide.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes! But if you need airconditioning, no.

Things to do in this area

Didn't find great restaurants in this town, but nearby towns like St. Remy had good food.
