Location

Located in the 11th arrondissiment, very near the number 3 metro line and a couple of bus lines which gave us great access to all of Paris. Very private, heated well, and on a charming street. We felt safe and at home in our small but well kept Garrett on the French sixth floor with a wonderful view of the street below and Paris rooftops.

Nearby Amenities

The area was very nice with many corner shops, bakeries, even a grocery store and a laundry within a few blocks. Anything we needed was very close and accessible. We ate at two nearby restaraunts which were also great. The owners have really done a great job, with a small personally put together neighborhood guide they leave for visitors with directions and recommendations for eating, and shopping nearby.

The House/Apartment

Our rental, the Garrett was on the French sixth floor, which meant 101 steps to climb to get to it. The steps were worth it, as the Garrett was very clean, well kept and had a recently remodeled bathroom with shower and kitchenette. The pictures provided by the owners in their listing ring true and accurately depict the space. Peaceful and quiet.

Garden

Nice view of Paris rooftops from the windows.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furnishings were all in good shape. The apartment can comfortably fit an individual or a couple and has an open space containing the bedroom, kitchen and eating areas. Very clean. It's a small space, but a well designed space, and was perfect for our needs.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Comfortable bed. Very clean bathroom with great use of space. Water was always hot, apartment was always adequately heated.

Kitchen

Kitchen was also great. There were two burners, a microwave, a small fridge, and several dishes, pans, and wares one might need. Nice dishes and pots and pans for us to use, plenty of kitchen utensils. I enjoyed the kitchen and often would make breakfast.

Problems or Bonuses

Nothing but bonuses. Many thoughtful touches left by the owners, including a bookshelf of Paris gudebooks, and a neighborhood guide which was better than the ones I had brought! Hairdryer! Finding a converter in a drawer was like finding a holy grail for us, as I have had a bad experience using the wrong converter before. A small space near the bed to store your suitcases after you have unpacked.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The owners were accessable to answer any questions both before and during our stay. Both are originally from the USA, and speak English and were very helpful. Their listing regarding the Garrett was right on, accurately depicting the space and drawbacks (6th floor, small space). The price was more than fair and made the Garret a real find. There were no hidden extra costs.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

The whole rental experience was a good one, with the Garrett exceeding our expectations. We plan to stay there again for the next trip we take to Paris, sometime during spring or summer. I highly recommend it, although that might mean it will be available less often for us!
