2bed/1bath house in village near Avignon, Provence WhenDecember 24 - 31 2005, 1 week LocationThe house, an authentic medieval structure is located in this old village near Avignon and Villeneuve Avignon. The village, named Les Angles, has been restaured and is fully inhabited. There is a walking tour to survey the houses, the church, tower. The view of the Rhone and Avignon across the river is beautiful. The atmosphere is unique. Inside the house is tastefully decorated with local artifacts and comfortable furniture. The fireplace in winter is really a plus. Nearby AmenitiesYou can take a local bus or drive to shops. There is a large supermarket also about 5 minutes away by car. Villeneuve Avignon, another historical town nearby has beautiful shops. The House/ApartmentA stand alone house with parking space, one bedroom and a loft with a double bed above the living room. It also has two fold out sofas. It was really quiet. GardenThere is a balcony to sit or eat outside weather permitting. The birds also come there to visit. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was very authentically antique and very tasteful. It was very adequate. Bedrooms/BathroomsTwo toilets (separate) but only one bathroom with shower. This can be crowded if shared by a lot of people. KitchenGreat kitchen. Warm and old with an hearth over the stove. You also see the view from there. Problems or BonusesThe house and the town were more beautiful than expected. Make sure you have cash for the security deposit or charge it ahead of time with the agency. Agency and Representatives (and price)Very well. We paid $970.00 in December. The onsite person, Annik, was very helpful and pleasant. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes I would stay there again. Because of the shower situation, it might not be appropriate for a lot of guests, but perfect for a couple and a small family. The overall experience was very worthwhile. Things to do in this areaAvignon is right across the river and there are a lot of destinations nearby. We drove to Arles, Les Baux, Vaison la Romaine etc. for day trips. It is ideally situated.
