3bed/3bath apartment, 16 Rue de Marignan, 8th arr., Paris WhenApril, 2006, 1 week LocationThis lovely apartment was located just one block off of the Champs Elysses in the 8th arrondissement. This three bedroom apartment was accessed through a key-whole gate into a courtyard from a quiet residential street. Although we were in a high rent district, we were always able to find within walking distance reasonable restaurants, department stores, and a grocery store. We were one block from the Franklin Roosevelt metro stop. The House/ApartmentThe apartment which our family called a Paris Salon had mirrored walls, mirrored bathrooms, and fabric padded walls with marble floors. The furnishings were elegant and comfortable. It was reached by elevator to the second floor. If there were other apartments occupied, we never heard another sound. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe apartment had two sitting rooms, a dining room, and elegant furnishings. Bedrooms/BathroomsTwo king-size beds and twin beds furnished the three bedrooms. Large baths with tubs were available for each bedroom. Beds were comfortable. One bath off of a king bedroom had no toilet, but the bedrooms were furnished elegantly. KitchenThe kitchen had all of the necessary equipment, the latest appliances, and a breakfast table for morning coffee. Problems or BonusesA nice bonus for renting this apartment was the appearance of a maid our third day there. We were met by the agency's representative upon our arrival who gave us our keys, a tour of the apartment and how things worked, and a description of the surrounding area. Agency and Representatives (and price)This was our second booking through Classic Vacation Rentals, having used them last year in Venice. We were so pleased with our apartment there, we immediately contacted her as we planned our trip to Paris. Although the apartment would be considered by many to be expensive, for three families it was $200 per night a family, which was comparable to local hotels. The ambiance was superior and we were able to share our daily experiences in plush surroundings. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would return tomorrow!
