4bed/4bath villa, St. Remy, Provence WhenApril 2006, 1 week LocationThe house was located less than one mile from St. Remy de Provence. We walked into town on market day and one other day one of the couples walked into town for lunch. The location was also perfect for discovering some of the best of Provence, Les Baux, Arles, Pont du Guard, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence. There were eight of us in an eight passenger van. We only had to fill the vehicle up once. At the price of gas in Europe that is a plus. Nearby AmenitiesYou could certainly walk to restaurants, there was a small market within walking distance, but for the major groceries, you would need to drive more so for bringing the groceries back. The House/ApartmentThe house was in great shape in a quiet neighborhood. It was perfect for four couples. Very comfortable. GardenThe grounds were very nice. There is a private pool and patio with an outdoor eating area with grill. We ate outside most evenings. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in good shape. The house was clean. There was enough seating for everyone. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bedrooms each had a private bath. The beds were comfortable. All of the bedrooms were very nice. Our only criticism here would be that the pillows were very flat. KitchenThe kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils and dishes. We surprised ourselves at the amount of cooking that we actually did. Problems or BonusesThere were no surprises good or bad. Agency and Representatives (and price)Doorways was very responsive to all of our questions. The onsite person was fine. She spoke English pretty well. Certainly enough to answer any questions. The published description did accurately reflect the reality of the place. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to my best friends (although they already know since they were with us) without reservation. Things to do in this areaBesides visiting the towns mentioned in the Location part of this review, we did a wine tour in the area and also participated in a cooking class outside of Aix-en-Provence.
