Review 206: LocaFlat, Paris Apartment
After many trips to Europe over 32 years, I am convinced that staying in one place in a rented house or apartment is the best way to travel.
In February 2001, my partner and I and our two teenagers rented an apartment in Paris from Locaflat, recommended by Rick Steves. It does take a leap of faith to rent an accommodation over the Net, but they were as good as their word, and very helpful. Everything happened when they said it would, and at the advertised price. I found their site particularly helpful, with many pictures (even videos) and neighborhood information.
The particular apartment we rented was of a very modest standard, but was as represented. They have a range of sizes and standards to choose from, specializing in the Left Bank. Although this site does have very luxe accommmodations on offer, it might be a better choice for the budget traveler than, say, Chez Vous, which seems to specialize in upper end apartments.
We will definitely use them again.
