apartment on farm near Avignon, Provence Whenbefore 2000 ReviewMost of our travel in France and Italy has revolved, so to speak, around biking. Through Doorways a few years ago, we rented a maas, I believe they are called, in Provence near Avignon. It seemed to be a restored farm or small estate, rustic and quiet, called La Conviviale. It was spacious and open, with an old fashioned pool. When we arrived there was a peacock on the lawns. The owners spoke English but pretty much left us alone. The apartment was large and clean, certainly not elegant, but with a simple charm, one of those places where the windows open out to trees in bloom and a courtyard, airy and relaxing and sunny. We generally drove down evening to small restaurants in the towns nearby, and biked during the day. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
