Review

We loved so many things about Dave & Aralynn's home.

  • The split bedroom/bath setup is ideal for two couples who prefer a little privacy; we took the lower level room because we are at the age when we have to get up in the middle of the night, and the facilities were on the same level.
  • The location is perfect! This home is far enough from the center of town so that you're not bombarded by noise and crowds, yet it's a very short walk to that center!
  • I don't know how old the house is, but as far as atmosphere, one gets the impression of extreme age. That is a charming and good thing. Luckily the amenities are modern, so you get the best of both worlds.
  • Dave and Aralynn have provided many little perks to make the stay more comfortable. A list of their favorite restaurants, a goody basket, even soap for the clothes washer!
  • The outdoor terrace is fabulous, with a beautiful view and surrounded by flowers.
  • We didn't come to France to watch TV, but it was very nice to have a few BBC stations to watch news, weather and East Enders (the son of our traveling companions has a role in the show, so of course we watched it!)

As someone else has mentioned, the house is not for the mobility impaired, as it is located 2/3 up a steep, narrow, public stone staircase. Also, the lower level is reached by curved, steep, narrow stairs. That sounds worse than it is. My husband and I are both 64 and had no problems at all.

We highly recommend this property.
