Review 2539: RentParis, Apt #15 (79 rue Quincampoix )

Review by fandry from US

1bed/1bath apartment in 3rd arrondisment, Paris

November 2006, 4 days

This apartment is located in the heart of Paris a few block from the Museum of Modern Art (Georges Pompidou center) and walking distance to Notre Dame and the Louvre Museum. The street is an historical Street (rue Quincampoix) in the Marais district very quiet. The apartment has a lot of sunshine (4th floor with an elevator).

Nearby Amenities

There are plenty of shops and restaurants around, grocery, farmers market, and an excellent baker and around the corner with hot croissants every mornings (my favorites!).

The House/Apartment

Apparently this apartment is an old 17th century building with high ceiling and old visible beams and parquet floor. The street is a small, one way street very quiet, with almost no traffic.

You can see the apartment directly: 79 rue Quincampoix

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The apartment was very clean, cosy and well decorated.

There is a large bed in the bedroom, and a large comfortable sofa in the living room. The bathroom has beautiful white an blue tiles, very elegant and even has a washing and drying machine.

The is a small kitchen with fridge, oven and everything for cooking. We did a great brunch with our friends there.

Problems or Bonuses

The elevator is small which is surprising. But I heard it is like this in most old Parisian buildings. It adds a little bit of charm, but not very convenient if you have a lot of luggage.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

When we arrived at the apartment, we met with Fabrice, one of the agents from RentParis. Fabrice spoke English fluently and was very nice and helpful. In fact, he told us that English speaking RentParis agents were available 24x7 by phone during our stay which I found very practical.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We would definitively recommend this apartment, the price is very low for the level of comfort(in fact we are already thinking of spending another week there in spring).

Things to do in this area

We went to the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame, visited Beaubourg center (modern art museum) and several excellent restaurants at "les Halles" and in the Marais.
