1bed/1bath apartment in 7th arrondissement, Paris WhenMarch 2007, 10 days LocationThis was a wonderful apartment located in the 7th arrondissement, but bordering on the 6th. It was a wonderful location, better than I thought it would be. You could walk to everything, including about three metro stops close by. Nearby AmenitiesYou could walk to all the sites in Paris as well as a million restaurants and cafes. The grocery store was on the corner and I visited it about twice a day. They were very friendly and helpful, spoke some English, and they had everything one would need in such a small space. The House/ApartmentThe whole building had been remodeled before it was sold as apartments a few years back. It was done beautifully, very tasteful communal space and extremely soundproof. There are two apartments on each of the four floors, this apartment is on the third floor with an elevator. GardenNone Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasIt was furnished very tastefully and extremely comfortable. There was a small cafe table with three chairs in the kitchen, a very nice down couch in the front room. It also had a very functional and comfortable trundle bed to sleep a visiting nephew and niece as well as a dining table with four chairs and Internet hookup. There were plenty of lights for reading and a small CD player as well as a small flat screen TV in the bedroom with cable. The place was spotless! Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was very comfortable, it could be made up as twin beds or as a king. We had it made up as a king and never felt the whole in the middle. It faces a courtyard so it is very quiet and you can sleep with the window open if needed. The bathroom was divided into two rooms, one with the toilet and sink and the second with the tub/shower, sink, towel warmer, very handy for more than one person getting ready. KitchenThe kitchen had all new appliances. It had a dishwasher, washer and a separate dryer! There were enough of dishes, pots, cutting boards, wine and champagne glasses and coffee cups. There was dish soap and washing machine soap as well as an iron and ironing board. It was extremely functional for cooking a full meal. Problems or BonusesIt was even better that it looked on the website. Agency and Representatives (and price)I booked directly with the owner who was very prompt returning my emails. I was able to pay in US dollars even though the price is quoted in euros (€1470 a week). It was a very easy transaction. I was met by her representative upon arrival. He showed us around and how everything worked and we had a cell number to reach him if we needed anything. He spoke English very well. You can see the apartment via VRBO above or at Heart of Paris. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would stay here again in a heartbeat, in fact, I wish I were there now. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
