1bed/1.5bath apartment in 7th arrondissement, Paris

When

July 5-July 12/2007, 1 week

Location

The location of this Paris Perfect apartment "Pomerol" was perfect. Located on the corner of Rue Cler and Rue Grenelle within a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. The famous produce, cheese and pastry markets of Paris are located on Rue Cler.

Nearby Amenities

Everything you could possibly ask for was on our street. Cafes, markets and grocery stores. Post office and bank machines.

The House/Apartment

The building was built, I believe, sometime before the Eiffel tower to accommodate the iron workers who built the tower. A lovely old building with a single person lift or five flights of winding stairs, which all adds up to lots of charm. The apartment was lovely with beautiful French furnishings, a lovely although very small kitchen with granite counter tops. The master bedroom had a very comfortable queen size bedroom with a fantastic view of the Eiffel tower. The living room couch converts into a single bed with a trundle pull out bed, very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the apartment was. We couldn't hear any of the street noise except for in the morning with the window opened we could hear the fruit market selling their produce, part of the experience of staying in Paris. We loved waking up every morning to these sounds. If we had the windows closed we would never of heard anything. This is a residential building everyone we met there was friend and polite.

Garden

We did not have a balcony but we wonderful windows that opened on two sides of the building.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was great, very comfortable. The best part of this apartment was how clean it was. I am very fussy about where I stay and I was truly delighted to see this apartment so clean. Paris Perfect exceeded my expectations in this department.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The bedroom was small but certainly had enough room for my husband and I. The queen size was very comfortable and there was two closets and a small desk with a DVD player and TV. Enough room for all our needs. There was only one bathroom but we knew this and we adjusted. The bathroom was lovely with marble tile very clean.

Kitchen

Although I did not cook in this kitchen I think it was a very usable kitchen. Very small but I do not think they missed one thing as far as supplying it with top notch pots, pans etc. I don't cook when on vacation, that is the only reason we didn't use it.

Problems or Bonuses

The best surprise for me was the whole apartment, how lovely it was and the location could not be surpassed! My husband, two teenage daughters and myself lived in the apartment comfortably for one week. We were thrilled to be in Paris and we feel very lucky to have stayed in the Pomerol.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We booked this apartment online through Paris Perfect. The owners and staff could not of been more informative or helpful. Yes, they spoke English very well. Yes, the website accurately describes the apartment.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes!!! Without a doubt we will stay in the Pomerol or any apartment from Paris Perfect. This is a top notch company. Almost as soon as we arrived in Paris we knew we wanted to go back and we now know that we will only stay in a Paris Perfect apartment. It is the only way to travel. We have already recommended this company to friends.

Things to do in this area

Everything is at your doorstep. The Eiffel Tower is a ten minute walk, the metro is a block away. The markets are all within easy walking distance as well as cafes etc.
