1bed/1bath apartment in 6th arrondissement, Paris WhenNov 3-13,2007, 10 days LocationExcellent location in Paris. Museums, restaurants, bars, bakeries, vegtable store within one block. Nearby AmenitiesCould not have asked for a better location. The House/ApartmentVery dificult to navigate into the apartment building at night. Must have a flashlight for the hallways and for entrance into the building. The apartment was a small one bedroon unit. It had just been painted and smelled of paint for the first few days. The mirrors and paintings had not been replaced on the wall. You can view the apartment directly: Buci 1. GardenNo garden. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurniture was adequate but not great. There was a hot-wired Internet connection, however there was no adequate piece of furniture to put our laptop on. Bedrooms/BathroomsBedroom held a queen size bed and a small corner storage unit. There was no space for more. The bed was comfortable however the sheets and blankets were thin and not overly plush or warm. KitchenKitchenette was adequate. Washing machine took 2 1/2 hours for a small load. Problems or BonusesSee below. Agency and Representatives (and price)Major issue here. We made our reservation five months prior to our visit. They had no problem transferring the money within minutes over the Internet. One month prior to the visit, I attemped to verify our plans. It took them three days to respond. Two days prior to our trip, I emailed them regarding the Internet connection. Did not hear for twelve hours, however when they did respond they told me the apartment was no longer available. Had I not emailed, I am not sure they would have told me before our appearance in Paris. They did give us a comparable unit with a discount of five euros. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? No, no, no. Although the unit was nice, it smelled of fresh paint for the first few days. Had they been more respectful, they would they would have contacted us before and made sure the unit they gave us was ready for occupancy. Things to do in this areaWe had a marvolus trip. On a scale of one to ten we rated it a twenty! Museums were wonderful(recommend a pass), the Metro was easy to use and the people were very pleasant. The location of the unit was superb. We had our favorite restaurant and bar just outside our unit, however there was an overabundance of them within three blocks.
