Review 3371: Paris Vacation Apartments, Rue de Grenelle

Review by susanna from US

Studio apartment in the 7th arrondissement, Paris

Feb 19-27, 2008, 9 nights

Great studio apartment in the heart of Paris, in the seventh but really, just on the border with the sixth. Set back off a courtyard so no street noise, nice and quiet, although no view of anything really, just other apartments.

Nearby Amenities

It is next door to a GREAT cheese shop, there are two small grocery stores on the street as well as a vegetable/fruit store and about three blocks from Bon March Grand Epicerie. Cafes galore all over the place.

The House/Apartment

Apartment building was nondescript really, maybe 20 apartments in what looked like two buildings. This apartment in in the back building overlooking a plain courtyard, extremely quiet, never really heard any other tenants.

It is a one room studio, 22 sq meters. Not large, but very well equipped with everything one would need, including a laptop computer and washer/dryer. Big shower in a small bathroom, two burners for cooking and a small fridge.

You can view the apartment directly: Grenelle.

No garden.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was in excellent shape. For a studio it had lots of seating, a couch, two kitchen chairs and a little table as well as two small end tables that could be moved around.

The apartment was vacated that morning and the cleaning lady did a great job, it was spotless when I arrived.

Bed was very comfortable, two reading lights on the wall, nice little TV in the bed area and a huge closet for clothes and storage. Big shower, small bathroom all done in marble, hairdryer, soap, towel warmer and bathrobes.

Great kitchen for a studio. Washer/dryer, small fridge, two burners that were very quick at heating up and cooling down. Definitely enough pots and pans for light cooking. Silverware and dishes were fine, nothing special to report.

Problems or Bonuses

Pleasantly surprised at how well laid out this small studio was.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

This agency gets a 10 out of 10. They answered all my emails within 12 hours, the person met me at the appointed time to check in and show me everything. There is a big book with directions/restaurant recs/ phone numbers, just about anything you might need is in this book. Yes, they speak English.

I was here in low season, Feb, and it was $750 a week and pro rated for the extra days.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would stay here again without hesitation. The agency was a joy to deal with, the apartment was just as they said and the price was great. I hesitate to recommend it because it might be full the next time I want to rent it, but, I always appreciate reading reviews and I want to give back to Slow Travel.

I have to say that it was perfect for one person. I would feel cramped with my husband here and I can't imagine three people staying here, just my two cents.
