Review 3522: FranceResa3, Raspail Apt (#431)

Review by Lesfaye from WA

Studio apartment in 14th arrondissement, Paris

April/May 2008, 5 nights

This apartment was located just off Boulevard Raspail. It was on the edge of Montparnasse and was walkable to the Latin Quarter. It was located on a small passage way off Boulevard Raspail. There were tons of restaurants and bars and it was a good central location to get anywhere in Paris. Metro was a two minute walk away.

Nearby Amenities

There were two grocery stores right around the corner and many cafes/bars nearby.

The House/Apartment

It was on the second floor of a large building not sure how many apartments. It was a studio with wood floors, large windows looking out to the small street it was on. The building was very quiet never heard or saw our neighbors once.

No outside space.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Furniture in good shape, the apartment itself could have been a little cleaner but was perfectly acceptable to us. It was very comfortable. It being a studio the bed was just off the front door, there was a couch and a desk and also a table with four chairs. Shelves with CD player and TV with DVD.

The bed was only a double but was very comfortable, it had a good foam mattress on it. There was a WC and next to that a small bathroom with small shower. There were some tiles missing in the corner of the shower, he showed me these and said to keep a wet sponge over them so water would not drip down. He replaced the shower curtain when we arrived.

The kitchen was tiny but had four burners and a small oven. Extremely light on utensils, not even a spatula to flip and egg. One tiny sharp knife, needs to go to Ikea soon! It even had a dishwasher underneath the oven but we did not use it. Microwave as well and fridge. All perfectly acceptable except for the lack of cooking utensils.

Problems or Bonuses

We were quite happy with the size and layout of the apartment, it was 30 square meters and was depicted accurately on the website.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The owner was very professional, responded to e-mails well and took credit cards for the deposit although would not take it for the balance. He met us at the apartment and showed us how to use everything and spoke very good English.

We paid 74 per night and felt that was a fair price for this apartment.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would recommend this apartment. Not sure if I would stay there again only because I would want to try another area. The area is fine but would like to be more central.

Things to do in this area

We did wander down Montparnasse Boulevard frequently and ate three times in a restaurant called Montparnasse 138. They had wonderful food and so friendly!
