2bed/2bath apartment in 3rd arrondissement, Paris

May 17 - June 7, 2008, 3 weeks

Location

Location in the heart of the 3rd arrondissement, very central Paris. Two blocks to three different metro stations. Convenient.

Nearby Amenities

Two blocks to two supermarkets. A number of restaurants easy walking distance.

The House/Apartment

An old but beautifully re-furbished building. Apartment in excellent condition - all new bathrooms and kitchen. Our apartment was quiet - it was in the rear of the building but as the street was a narrow medieval one there would not have been noise at the front of the building either. I think there were two apartments per floor.

Garden

No pool - small courtyard but no chairs.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Furniture was excellent - very comfortable & clean. Well lit.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Beds were good. Two bathrooms, one for each bedroom.

Kitchen

The kitchen was new and clean. Plenty of pots, pans and cutlery. We cooked two nights out of every three. Full size refrigerator. Dishwasher worked well as did stove hood, stove and microwave.

Problems or Bonuses

Elevator (put into old building) worked really well.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Agency helpful with information. There was an on site person - spoke English, friendly and helpful. There was a book of information on the apartment - where to find restaurants, groceries, etc. There was also a book on how to work each appliance.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes - we would stay there again and would recommend it. The airport pick up service provided (extra charge) was also excellent.

Things to do in this area

In the area: Arts & Metiers museum, Pompidou center, a doll museum. Carnavalet museum not far away. BHV department store not far away. Nicolas Flamel restaurant (in oldest house left in Paris) a block away. Viphaipi restaurant and tea shop a block away. Ambassade d'Auvergne two blocks away -- all three excellent food and good service.
