Location

This apartment is right in the city center, convenient to everything. Carrara is one of the the three vacation rentals in this apartment building, the rest of the units are long-term rentals. Amazingly enough, this apartment is pretty quiet in the evening, the city for that matter was very quiet after 9pm. Some of the evenings, we heard some music entertaining diners in the nearby restaurants.

Nearby Amenities

The apartment is very close to all the amenities and all the sites.

The House/Apartment

The front and the back sections of the building were built in the 1500s connected in the middle by an addition from the 1930s. Carrara is in the 1930s addition, on the second floor.

The exterior of the building was being renovated and painted while we were there.

Garden

There is a shared patio in the rooftop with chairs, tables and grill. We didn't use it.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture of this apartment is in pretty good shape - in Ikea way.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

There are plenty of room both in the bedroom and bathroom. The bed was comfortable.

It was nice to have two sinks in the bathroom and shower curtain. The shower head over the tub has been moved to above head level since the picture in the website. There was lots of hot water, as well.

Kitchen

I cooked full meals in the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped.

Problems or Bonuses

The owner, Jeannine, was very apologetic for the painting to be still going on when we were there - the painting was behind schedule. Jeaninne and Jacques took us out for wine and tapas to a real neat place to compensate for our inconvenience. She also didn't charge us for the final cleaning.

Another bonus: Jeannine picked us up at the train station at arrival. Sure removed the stress of arrival.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Both Jeannine and Jacques are good people, very responsive during booking as well as during our stay.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes, I would recommend this apartment. It was a very good rental for the week.

Things to do in this area

We used this apartment and Colmar as the base to see Alsace, parts of Germany and Basel Switzerland.
