Studio apartment in 4th arrondissement, Paris WhenSept. '08, 10 nights LocationThis apartment was on Ile St. Louis in a perfect location of Paris. It was on the first floor, so one flight up. Nearby AmenitiesThere were three grocery stores and three bakeries within two blocks. Many restaurants within the few block area of Ile St. Louis. A flower shop, many shops for clothes etc. The House/ApartmentThe building is 400 years old. This large studio had two sofas(one was a pull out bed), two chairs, and a full size dining table and chairs for four. The room was stunning with parquet floors, 14 ft. ceiling with huge beams going across. There was a decorative screen to hide the king size bed, a rarity in Paris. It had two large windows that opened on to Rue St. Louis en Ille. A little street noise in the morning, but not bothersome. GardenNone Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasIt was beautifully furnished, and just a joy to relax in. We usually rent a one bedroom, but the bedrooms are always so small. We enjoyed this large studio more because the room was so beautiful and comfortable. Bedrooms/BathroomsKing-size bed -- very comfortable, with nice linens. Didn't use the pull out sofa. The bathroom was modern and well equipped. There was a vanity sink, tub, and shower. It also had a washing machine and hair dryer, and lots of towels. KitchenThe kitchen was small, but well laid out with every convenience. Cook top, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher. There were nice quality dishes, pots and pans, wine glasses, utensils, etc. Problems or BonusesA good surprise was a huge vase of fresh flowers upon arrival. No bad surprises. Agency and Representatives (and price)The agency was prompt and professional from the very first email. They had a small office right on St. Louis en Ille. They were available to make any restaurant or tour reservations. Much like a concierge in a good hotel. They spoke fluent English and were very easy to do business with. The apartment looked just like their beautiful pictures on their site -- no surprises there. They had a car pick up service for the airport, and he had the key to the apartment which we were able to get into at 9am. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would recommend this service and this particular apartment to my best friend without a doubt. We definitely will stay here again. This was our sixth trip to Paris, and by far the best, in part because of this stunning apartment in one of the best locations in Paris. Things to do in this areaWalking along the Seine on the island and its bridges late at night listening to live music and watching the boats is one of the finest things to do for free in Paris. Loved the island shops and restaurants including "Le Fleur en Ile" right by the bridge, and L'Ilot Vache on Rue St. Louis en Ille. Amorino gelatto was special the way they make each cone in the shape of a flower. And don't forget the bread and pastries -- outstanding. Three shops very close to the apartment.
