Studio apartment in 7th arrondissement, Paris WhenSeptember 2008, one month LocationThis studio is on the European first floor in a building (with elevator) 1/2 block from the Seine in the 7th and 1 block from the busy intersection of Rue Mazarine and Rue de Buci. What a wonderful location! In my opinion it couldn't be better! Nearby AmenitiesWe were no more than one block from everything; grocery, newsstand, cafes, restaurants, ATM, you name it, it was there. The House/ApartmentThe building was old but not particularly historic. If you go to the Paris Bestlodge website and look at the studio, "What you see is what you get," no surprises. I like that. There were four apartments on our floor. The walls are a little thin and early in the eve. you can hear noises but later everything is quiet. This did not bother me at all. GardenAs you can see in the pictures there is a sitting area accessed by French doors. It's not very picturesque but pleasant. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe place was spotless. The furniture is basic but comfortable. The queen size bed concerned me as we are used to a king but it was acceptable for our month's stay. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bathroom was small (by our standards) but acceptable. The great thing was an American style shower! KitchenWe had no intention of cooking other than heating up things bought in the markets. The kitchen has only a microwave and a two burner stove and that was enough for us. Problems or BonusesNo bad surprises only good ones. Well, not really a surprise. Thierry the owner of this apartment is WONDERFUL!!! I was a little concerned in the beginning as we have never rented an apartment in Europe and this was for an entire month! He immediately took care of all of our little minor problems and was instantly available by cell phone at all times. He is a joy to work with! I am convinced that the manager is more important than the apartment. I will only rent from him if I go to Paris again. He is the best. Agency and Representatives (and price)See Problems or Bonuses above. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would stay here again in a heartbeat! What a wonderful experience. Things to do in this areaCafe Conti on the corner of Buci and Mazarine has WiFi. Every day at 5pm we were there (along with many others) with our computer and a glass of wine watching the "working people" going home. What fun!! This area is always busy and fun. I will always stay around here. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
