1bed/1bath apartment in Montmartre, Paris WhenOct. 27, 2008, 1 Week LocationThis apartment is located in a quiet Montmartre neighborhood, in a five story building with a small center garden area. It's located on US level two (European Level one). Nearby AmenitiesThe more quiet Montmartre neighborhood offers a fine bakery, and a convenience store within 100 meters for just about anything you’ll quickly need, and so many restaurants! Seven to 12 minutes walk to three metro stops allows quick access to just about everything, including Gare du Nord where you’ll find quick train connections to Belgium and the Netherlands, or any other train stations for day trips to Giverny, Versailles, or Chartres. The House/ApartmentTechnically, this apartment has recently been redone with plenty of power outlets, hydronic heat, new appliances, high speed Internet (either plug in or WiFi), and digital TV. However, it is a 19th century apartment. Don’t expect soundproof walls and do plan on keeping the noise level to a minimum during your stay. If you’re a loud, boisterous family, or you need more than a 26” door frame to pass from room to room, you’re best staying for twice the price at an American style hotel down the street. GardenThe shared garden area is compact (150 square meters) as expected in Paris. No pool, a few well maintained plants, with minimal sitting area. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe apartment was clean with plenty of furniture. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe apartment offers a separate water closet (aka 1/2bath), a nice small shower, well appointed kitchen, a dining room with daybed, a living room with American sized queen sleeper, and of course a quaint bedroom with American sized queen bed. For a family of four, we truly appreciated having three sinks (kitchen, WC, shower room) to take care of a quick hand washing or tooth brushing before we ran off to the next attraction. KitchenSee bed and bath notes. Agency and Representatives (and price)The managers, Paula and Darrin, are more than accommodating, and can even offer a bit of travel advice. Of course, their English is excellent. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? This classically Parisian apartment made our week in Paris simply perfect. We’ll use Frenchy Rentals again soon!
