1bed/1bath apartment in 7th arrondissement, Paris WhenMarch 27 - April 3, 2009, One Week LocationEiffel Apartment by ParisBestLodge, in the 7em of Paris. Wonderful non-touristy location. Classy residential neighborhood. Close to Metro stop at Ecole Militaire. Nearby AmenitiesEverything you need right at hand, within a one to two block area. Wonderful bakeries, butcher, produce, Picard's frozen food, Italian deli, supermarket, cafes. The House/ApartmentNot luxurious, but very, very comfortable. High building security. Most of building seemed to be offices, such as doctors, etc. You can view the property directly: Eiffel Tower Apartment. GardenFantastic private balcony, with plenty of room for table, chairs, lounge, and plants! Overlooks the street, so you can "people watch" happily. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurniture was very comfortable and sufficient for four people (sofa bed in living room and queen bed in bedroom). Spotless! Plenty of storage, linens, kitchen supplies, paper goods, detergents, etc. Washer/dryer combo, computer with free Internet access. Bedrooms/BathroomsBed was very comfortable. Bath has shower only (no tub), but fixtures well kept and spotless. Linens, soaps and paper goods well supplied. KitchenKitchen is small, but convenient, with plenty of pans, dishes, utensils, etc. Paper towels, trash bags, dish detergent, etc. well supplied. No oven, but a four-burner stove top, microwave, large refrigerator/freezer. Could be used for cooking full meals, but I used it mostly for coffee and pastry, salads, omelets and to heat things purchased in the neighborhood. Good supply of staples furnished such as salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, tea, coffee, sugar, etc. Problems or BonusesApartment was exactly as advertised, perhaps roomier than anticipated. Thierry was super to deal with, as I had heard from others on travel forums! Balcony was larger than I expected. Agency and Representatives (and price)Thierry was excellent to deal with. Absolutely the best landlord ever! Can't say enough good things about him! Great communication throughout the rental process. Charming and helpful. Paid €800 for the week of March 27 - April 3, 2009. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I recommend this apartment and Thierry at ParisBestLodge most highly! I absolutely will rent from him again the next time I travel to Paris! Things to do in this areaPretended to be a real Parisian for a week. The shops and markets nearby are wonderful, and possibly the best boulangerie I've ever seen! I took so many "goodies" back to the apartment, I didn't make it to any of the restaurants. Champs de Mars Park was two blocks away, so easily walked to it each night and watched the Eiffel Tower "light show." This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
