2bed/2bath house in Bonnieux, Provence WhenApril 2009, 2 weeks LocationThis was right in the village of Bonnieux. We loved the village as it seemed a bit less overly gentrified than some of the other nearby villages and thus perhaps more to our taste. Nearby AmenitiesIn addition, it had everything we needed, a playground for my kids, a small grocery, two boulangeries (though their offerings were not the best in the area), a boucherie, a post office (where you can top up your cell phone if needed) and a couple of cafes that offer wireless Internet connections. There are also several restaurants in various price levels. There is a weekly Market on Fridays. The House/ApartmentThe house is a converted old village house. Typical layout ... tall and skinny. There are four floors. There is a bedroom with a town trundle bed and full bath on the lowest level. On this level there is also a wine cave but I doubt any renters will be stocking enough wine to need that. The washing machine is located here as well. On the street entry level is the decently sized kitchen and dining room (which has a stunning view toward the Luberon hills). The next floor up has another bedroom with queen sized bed and armoire and a sitting room with a pull out sofa and a TV (4 channels only -- all French). The top floor has another bathroom with a toilet and shower and terrace. GardenThere are a table and chairs available on the terrace. Private. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was in excellent shape and it was spotless. Bedrooms/BathroomsAll beds were very comfortable. KitchenThe kitchen had EVERYTHING I needed and we cooked most of our meals in. Problems or BonusesThe house was bright and airy, wonderful in every way. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owner, Chritine, was charming and easy to deal with. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would recommend this place again without hesitation and I plan to go back again myself as soon as possible. Things to do in this areaVisit all the gorgeous neighboring villages and enjoy a few hikes. Follow that up with some incredible food and wine.
