1bed/1bath apartment in 9th arrondissement, Paris WhenJune 2009, 8 nights LocationThis apartment is in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, a short walk from Moulin Rouge. Nearby AmenitiesThere is a new supermarket steps away, as well as numerous take-out and sit-down restaurants. The House/ApartmentThe building and common areas are nice. There is a small elevator fit for one person with one bag, a nice feature after long days of walking around Paris! The apartment's location on one of the upper floors (and good sound-damping windows) made it plenty peaceful. Its one bedroom, kitchen, living space and bathroom are all updated and in great shape. GardenThis apartment has a small, private balcony. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furnishings were good and everything was spotless upon our arrival. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe beds and bathrooms were nice; the bathroom was especially well-updated, and includes a washer/dryer stack (another nice bonus). KitchenThe kitchen was great for our limited purposes; it has many features we just never got around to using. Just having a refrigerator, plates/glasses/silverware and a dishwasher was so nice. Problems or BonusesThe apartment was equipped with WiFi, but we received a nice surprise in that this allowed for free international calls back to the United States. Agency and Representatives (and price)It was a pleasure to deal with Paula at Frenchy Rentals. She treated us like guests in her own home, welcoming us to Paris and making sure everything was perfect for our stay. All communications were prompt and professional. We found the apartment to be exactly what we were expecting based on its web site. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We recommended this rental within hours of our return home, and we would stay here again any time. Things to do in this areaWe especially enjoyed the prix fixe at Bistrot des Deux Théâtres (beware that its location is at the corner of Place Pigalle and Rue Blanche, not where it shows up in the Fodor's map). We took in a show at Moulin Rouge, and rode the Montmartrobus to Place du Tertre to look around and have our portraits done by a street artist.
