2bed/2bath apartment in 7th arrondisement, Paris

When

Summer 2002, 1 week

Location

The ParisPerfect apartment is in the 7th arrondissement. It was on the 5th floor so we did hear street noise, but not enough to wake us. It was kind of exciting because our own home is in a quiet suburb. We let the kids play in the Champ de Mars with the Eiffel tower always in the background. Really great location, I think.

Nearby Amenities

I think the location is excellent. We were steps from the boulangerie and grocery story. We shopped for cheese on the Rue Cler. I found the Picard just around the corner was great for picking up frozen ingredients or really good frozen meals ready to heat in the apartment microwave.

The House/Apartment

The building was clean, quiet.

Garden

We could sit on the narrow balcony and see the Champ de Mars, Rue St. Dominique and the Eiffel Tower. The kids liked to watch people going about their daily business.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furnishings are elegant. I felt like I was staying in a diplomat's flat. Everything was spotless. The space is efficient, but we were able to seat everyone at the table for meals. The living room with two couches and chairs allowed us all to relax. We had all the amenities. Plenty of hot water, washer and dryer.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds were excellent as were the baths. You have to be careful about not letting water splash out of the shower when using the telephone shower head, but we mastered that.

Kitchen

Everything we needed! It was a full kitchen.

Problems or Bonuses

Madelyn, the owner, is so courteous and helpful, she feels like a friend. She even arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport.

There was a wonderful document she sent us with hints and ideas.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We are going back. I actually want to stay in another of her more recently renovated apartments.

Things to do in this area

Eiffel Tower Rodin Museum Les Invalides (boys liked the army museum) Champ de Mars (playgrounds, pony rides) Sewer Tour (Les Egouts) Pont d'Alma memorial (sorta) to Lady Di
