studio apartment in 4th arrondissement, Paris When2010, 1 week LocationLovely studio apartment in the heart of the Marais district right across the street from the Metro. Sixth floor with elevator, private and even though its address is on rue de Rivoli it is off the street overlooking a courtyard so there is very little street noise. Close to the fire station so sirens are heard occasionally but not too loud to bother. Nearby AmenitiesThere is a Supermarche across the street but, more importantly, there are several fresh markets, bakeries, wine shops, etc just a few steps from the door. The House/ApartmentBeautiful apartment building that has kept its original details. There is a concierge on the entrance floor but we really didn't need her services except to pick up the key. Entrance is from the street with a code then through a courtyard to another coded entrance to elevator/stairway. You can view the property directly: Studio Rivoli. GardenThere are two small balconies - perfect for morning croissants and evening wine - overlooking the courtyard and the top of St Paul Cathedral, which is beautiful in the moonlight. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasLiving area has a small couch and two small armchairs with computer hook-up and TV. Dining area is plenty big enough for two. Exposed ceiling beams and lovely chandelier add to the ambiance. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed, which is in an alcove, is extremely comfortable with great linens. Huge closet hidden behind a tiny door! The apartment has been fairly recently updated with a very large bathroom - big tub with rain shower. KitchenThe kitchen, also, is updated and very efficient with cook-top, microwave, coffee maker and washer-drier. We cooked a few meals and found everything that we needed. Problems or BonusesNo surprises here, just a perfect place for two, my husband and I fully enjoyed it. Agency and Representatives (and price)Thierry made the whole rental process so easy! The key was waiting and he gave us time to settle in before meeting us at the apartment and showing us around. The website has a very accurate depiction of the apartment. We paid €800 for a week in September, completely worth it! Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would highly recommend this apartment to single person or couple. We would be happy to stay there again. Things to do in this areaThis is a lovely area, with rue de Rosiers, Places des Vosges, Bastille area and so much more within just a few minutes' walk. We particularly enjoyed St Catherine Square, a quiet nook of cafes, with the Bar de Jarente being our favorite as it had good food and especially friendly staff.
