1bed/1bath apartment in 5th arrondissement, Paris WhenMarch 2011, 3 weeks LocationThe apartment is within 1/2 a block from the Seine, and just in line with the rear of Notre Dame. Nearby AmenitiesThe apartment is one block from the Maubert/Mutualite Metro station, there is one supermarket and two mini markets within a block, and at least three wine stores. There is a street market on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday that offers just about everything you need, in addition to many market stores and at least four cafe's with a five-minute walk. You can buy everything you need to spend a few weeks right in this neighborhood. The House/ApartmentThe entrance to the apartment is behind the usual old huge wood doors and is "code controlled." After entering the courtyard there is a door on the left that is key controlled, up one flight of steps, there is only one other apartment on this entry, so it is very secure. This is an old building, the apartment has beamed ceilings, and tile floors, it is fairly large as Paris apartment go. The layout is a bit unusual, as the living room is on the "entry" level, the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom is down four steps. The apartment is very well equipped with a full size stove, oven, washing machine and refrigerator. There is a tub/shower in the bathroom. The apartment has electric heat, WiFi, stereo TV and a "call free to anywhere" phone. The apartment was very comfortable, and aside from the fact that it "could" use a coat of paint, we would definitely recommend it. GardenNo outside seating or pool. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe apartment was clean and comfortable. Bedrooms/BathroomsComfy bed and good storage space for us for three weeks. KitchenVery good kitchen fully equipped, we do a lot of cooking. Agency and Representatives (and price)The agent Ray, was there to meet us with the keys and is very helpful, speaks English. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Would definitely recommend as for location and value. Things to do in this areaEverything is close by, nice to be so close to the Seine for evening walks. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
