Studio apartment in 3rd arrondissement, Paris When6/11 - 6/15, 2011, 3 nights Location60 rue de Vertbois is in the Marais district. A very good location for nearby shopping, metro, restaurants, etc. The building is typical for Paris and the apartment is nice and only on the first floor for hiking up with bags etc. The area was very basic but we felt comfortable on the street and it was quiet being off the street side and over looking a courtyard. Nearby AmenitiesMany grocery stores, cafes to walk to - I would never try to have a car in Paris so be ready to walk or use the Metro. Three or so restaurants in the street which was about five blocks long. The House/ApartmentIt was an old building but in good shape, peaceful and quiet. The apartment was basically one room with bed, couch, table and book stands with TV. A small kitchen which was comfortable and a good bathroom. GardenNone Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furnishings were pretty basic but clean. Adequately furnished for two! Maybe four with the pull out couch. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was fine. The bath had a good shower but confusing to get on. The toilet and sink did leak at the base at times. KitchenThe kitchen was fine for simple cold meal preparation and to fix breakfast. The stove and refrigerator worked fine. The utensils were adequate. Problems or BonusesNone really - Claude was very nice and helpful. Free telephone and WiFi! Agency and Representatives (and price)I worked directly with Claude (a lady) to book. She spoke excellent English. She was waiting for us to show us the apartment and easily within reach of 15 minutes if we needed her. we paid €380 for four nights. Not cheap but that's Paris!! She accepted PayPal for the deposit and cash at the end which was nice to save on bank wire fees. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes we would stay again as it is a good location and fine if one can get along with very basic furnishings. Things to do in this areaOne can walk to tons of the best restaurants of Paris in all price ranges. You do experience the non touristy part of Paris to see the daily routine of the people enjoying the social scene of Paris. Near the Republique Metro for many lines as well as two smaller stations. One can travel from one end of Paris to the other with ease on the Metro. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
