Review 5439: Frenchy Rentals, Marcadet 1
1bed/1bath apartment in 18th arrondissement, Paris
October 2012, 6 days
Our Paris apartment was located in the 18th close to Guy Moquet metro and three bus lines. Quiet, family district that we felt comfortable walking around a park close by. The apartment has a lovely outlook and windows that open. It is on the third floor but their is a small lift.
There are numerous restaurants close by, and a Monoprix supermarket very close. Near the metro are all the food shops we needed plus a Picard frozen food supermarket that has amazing food. There are fresh food markets close by too.
The apartment is in an old building but is very well maintained and secure. It was peaceful, no outside noise. We were on the third floor with lift.
No outside sitting area but the windows opened to let in fresh air if required.
The apartment was very nicely furnished in French style and was truly comfortable, clean and roomy. There was a three-seat lounge and one other chair. Dining table and four chairs. Two high stools at the kitchen bench.
We only used the queen bed which was comfortable. Good drapes made the room dark for sleeping. Plenty of cupboard space to unpack. The bathroom was adequate with a bath and toilet. Very clean, plenty of hot water.
Nice kitchen and plenty of equipment to cook full meals. Dishwasher, full stove and microwave. Also clothes washer.
Problems or Bonuses
We were very pleased with the apartment and although the timber floors creak, we felt it part of our Parisian experience! It was great to have the WiFi and also use of the phone to make international calls to landlines. A couple of minor problems were attended to quickly by Paula who lived in the building.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
All aspect of our booking was professionally dealt with and we were met by a representative of the company at the apartment when we arrived who spoke English and was very helpful. The apartment had been very well represented online and the price reasonable.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
We would stay there again, although some would be put off by the creaking floors in the bedroom and lounge.
Things to do in this area
We loved that we could walk to the Montmartre area very easily, were close to the metro and also used two of the three bus routes that go through Paris. We only ate at one local Italian restaurant, but enjoyed the experience.
