Thanksgiving week, 2003, 1 week

Location

Great location with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. Convenient to a bus stop and a short walk to 2 metro stations but on a fairly quiet street. Very near Champs de Mars.

Nearby Amenities

There were plenty of grocery shops, bakeries and cafes right outside. A lot of restaurants within walking distance as well.

The House/Apartment

Older building, with a number of apartments. Building was in good shape.

Garden

No garden but a nice balcony with a view and a couple of chairs and a table.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Stylish furnishings in very good shape. Apartment was recently renovated and very clean.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Bedroom was small but the king size bed was very comfortable with good quality linens and furnishings. 2 bathrooms (the one off the bedroom did not have a toilet but it was nice to have a sink and shower that we did not have to share with our daughter).

Kitchen

Kitchen was small but functional with plenty of good quality dishes, utensils etc. Maybe a bit confining for cooking full meals.

Problems or Bonuses

No surprises, other than how much we liked this place!

Agency and Representatives (and price)

I dealt with the owner of the agency and had a very pleasant experience. Onsite person is American (owner's sister in law) - very helpful and non-intrusive. The reality of the place is as good as advertised, if not better.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Very highly recommended.

Things to do in this area

There are plenty of bakeries, groceries, butcheries in this very upscale neighborhood. Rue Cler, the famous Paris market street, is within a short walk away. It was our favorite for grocery shopping. Cafe du Marche on Rue Cler was a wonderful basic restaurant - we enjoyed it for a couple of simple dinners.
